GeoIce

Understanding Geothermal

The first step in understanding GeoIce is understanding Geothermal tehcnology and that it has been around for a very long time.

Our GeoIce product was developed based on the principle fo Geothermal technology and is the most cost effective, energy efficient and renewable alternative to today’s traditional oil, gas and propane HVAC systems. It is the onlly single source system that uses the constant variable fo constant temperature to resolve your comfort needs.  Year-round comfort that, saves you money, with the the added benefit of preserving the environment is what geothermal is,  It is apremium choisce that outlasts any form of competition.

Throughout the year, almost 50% of the sun’s energy is absorbed into the earths surface.  Five feet below grade a consistent temperature is maintained and depending on your lattitude the temperature varies but is always constant.  The application of geothermal technology takes advantage of this constant renewable energy source which allows us optimize the efficiency of comfort heating and cooling.

By combining a series of loops or creating a large heat transfer coil inground with a heat pump attached, we are able to use the constant temperature to minimize the differential in heatig and cooling.  For example.  If we are heating in a typical furnace application, we pull in fresh air and blend that to the exisitng air to heat it to a temperature necessary to heat the space.  The air may well be below freezing thus consuming copeus amounts of energy to bring it to comfort temperatures..  In cooling it is just the opposite, where the air may me stiffling hot when an HVAC system is placed in an attic in South Texas and we have to cool from an extreem temperture to 56 degrees or lower for air conditioning. In most of North America where snow is prevalent the earths temperature is a moderate 56 degrees. For cooling it takes very little energy and for heating the same effect is in place becasue we are not changing the comfort air temperatures from extremes.

This combination of high performance technology allows us to tap into the earth’s natural heating and cooling properties to consistently and evenly distribute warm or cool air in your facility throughout each season.

DSB applies an environmentally friendly antifreeze solution or pure water in te coil as a heat transfer fluid.  It carries energy directly from the closed or open loop system into the heat pump inside your facility. In the winter, the heat pump acts as a furnace, distributing the heat throughout your facility using the system’s heat exchanger and compressor. In the summer, it acts as an air conditioner, collecting the heat from your facility and distributing it into your domestic hot water tank or back into the earth through the in ground coil or loop system.

Not only can a geothermal system provide you with year round indoor comfort, it can also provide inexpensive domestic hot water, supplementing or replacing your conventional domestic hot water heater.

It doesn’t matter whether you live in the country or in the city, there is a geothermal solution that will work for every building type and every climate condition.

Ground-Loop

When it comes to geothermal installation, no one knows more about how to do it well and do it right than DSB Management and Associatites and its Consortium Partner Geo Smart Energy.  Our Geothermal Specialists are backed by extensive training and practical experience.  We are skilled in selecting and installing the geothermal loop system best suited for your facility regardless of the weather and soil conditions in your area.

Each loop system uses high density PE100 green geothermal pipe, the most resilient geothermal pipe available on the market today. Once inserted in the ground, the pipe leads into the foundation of building through a sleeve cemented into the wall and connects directly to your heat pump, bringing you years of worry-free, high performance renewable heating and cooling using the earth as a natural energy source.
