Robo Pump
This was one of the coolest setups for a rink floor I have ever completed.
We completed the trial run to make sure our pump could reach 106′ end to end. We were directly under the flight path of San Diego International Airport, so we were advised that if we were at all seen by the airplanes radar during take-off we would be visited by the FBI and forced to shut down. The problem is, we were only told that the day of the pour. It was major concern. So we needed to run the setup protocol which is remotely controlled in between flights. At 6:31 AM every morning the planes begin to leave in 2 minute intervals and are only a few hundred feet overhead. Prior to that you can hear the planes moving around like bees in a hive. It was an incredible experience. We were on site at 5:30 AM after going home to shower at 4:07 AM. It was a crazy commitment but I didn’t want to loose the window of opportunity to pour and miss a targeted date. We finished the project 4 days ahead of schedule.
